Who you'll work with
Hi, I'm Nathan
I started Know Thyself Services to help people discover what they're good at and build a life around it. I take the time to get to know each person I work with, their interests, their goals and what support actually works for them.

Real moments, real progress
Small steps add up. Here are some of the days out, work and community connections our participants have been part of.

Our name
Ikigai: a reason to get up in the morning
Ikigai is a Japanese idea that sits at the meeting point of four questions: what you love, what you're good at, what the world around you needs, and what you can be recognised or rewarded for. Where those overlap, life starts to feel like it has direction.
That's how we work. We take time to learn what you enjoy and what you're naturally good at, then look for real places in your community where those strengths are useful, whether that is a class, a job, a team, a routine you can hold onto. Support isn't only about getting through the day; it's about building a week worth showing up for.
Where we start
Build from the ground up
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a simple idea: people need the basics covered before they can chase bigger things. Food, rest and a safe place come first, then stability and routine, then people around you, then confidence, and only then a real sense of purpose.
We use it as a check. If life feels unsteady right now, we start there. When the ground is solid, we look up the pyramid together.

Basics
Food, rest, a home that works. Everything else gets harder when these are shaky.
Safety
Routine, stability and support you can rely on week to week.
Belonging
People to see, places to go, a sense of being part of something.
Confidence
Skills you can use, progress you can point to, being trusted to do things yourself.
Purpose
Doing what you are good at in a way that matters to you and to other people.
